I’m pleased to announce that my unpublished personal essay “Furniture Broken by Boys” has won the Jon Whyte Memorial Essay Award. I learned the news on June 5 at the 2026 Writers Guild of Alberta Literary Awards gala in Edmonton; I was honoured to win, and to celebrate alongside so many talented writer friends from across the province.
